Personal Development and Mutual Understanding (PDMU)
PDMU helps children learn about themselves and others, encouraging every child to become personally, emotionally, socially and physically effective to lead healthy, safe and fulfilled lives. Confidence, independence and self-esteem are promoted through our positive school ethos and further developed through a range of activities such as discussion, debate, role-play and Circle Time in PDMU lessons.
Children are encouraged to explore and understand their feelings and emotions, to respect others, manage conflict effectively, make healthy choices and contribute positively to their class, school and wider communities. Teachers guide pupils to become tolerant and responsible citizens who are aware of the impact their behaviour has on others and the environment.
